HELLO!
Thank you for your interest in the Section on Health and Human Services Administration of the American Society for Public Administration. We are the professional specialty home for members of ASPA working in or studying health, human services and public education. Membership in SHHSA is through the national ASPA organization. Our members pay dues for general ASPA membership, which includes free membership in one of ASPA's local chapters, plus an additional annual dues for section membership of $21.
WHY JOIN OUR SECTION?
- the quarterly Journal of Health and Human Services Administration, (found online at www.spaef.com; part of the member dues cover the cost of the journal),
- a periodic e-newsletter "The Agenda,"
- annual membership meeting at the national ASPA conference,
- and many opportunities for networking, learning and volunteering to advance our profession, most notably through organizing and presenting papers, panels and other programs at national conferences and special journal symposia.
Through ASPA's online services, members of our section
can access contact information for fellow members worldwide. SHHSA is a
strong and supportive network with many collaborative relationships among
individuals and organizations. Our diverse members are eager to help one
another and to make it easier for young professionals to learn about and
succeed in the many challenges our field offers.
