Chapter Goals

Goal 1: Partner with counterpart associations to jointly sponsor chapter programs.

The Chapter plans to contact other associations to request the advertisement of Chapter events within their newsletters and other correspondence with the promise to reciprocate within our publications. In addition, the Chapter plans to identify associations to jointly sponsor one or more chapter programs, with the objective to increase program attendance and to solicit new members.

Goal 2: Celebrate and recognize the accomplishment of civic service at the Annual Awards Dinner.

The Annual Awards Dinner continues to be the Chapter’s key event. The Dinner provides an opportunity to recognize state and local civic leadership through a variety of awards. The Dinner also provides a venue for members and guests to visit and network with life long friends and professional associates.

Goal 3: Increase the chapter membership and member participation in chapter events.

The Chapter plans to broadly communicate chapter events to current and potential members, through the Chapter website, newsletters, email and other correspondence, and by word of mouth. In addition, Chapter members plan to contact members whose membership has expired to encourage their continued participation.

Goal 4: Support civic service and education.

In addition to celebrating current civic leaders, the Chapter hopes to enroll future leaders through civic service youth outreach activities. Outreach program ideas under consideration include conducting a mock legislative session, graphics design contest, web site design contest, or civics essay contest.

Goal 5: Increase Chapter sponsorship.

FY 2002-2003 increased sponsorship demonstrates a growing interest in and appreciation for the Sacramento Chapter’s accomplishments. More importantly, private organization sponsorship is a direct recognition of local and state government administrator success. The Chapter plans to solicit new sponsors to support FY 2003-2004 activities.
