Old business/reports:

Homeland Security Event – on hold pending report from Ashley Moore

Spring Event “The Gangs of Northern Virginia” – Al Turner has suggested the gang intelligence unit from Richmond as a possible component to our panel.  Gene reported the PTA is interested in being a component as well.  We discussed the location and it was proposed to hold the panel at the Fairfax campus of George Mason University in March or early April.  The agenda would be 6:30-7pm social time/reception; program 7-8:30pm on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.  We are estimating 50 participants.  More discussion about the audience for this event: social services, law enforcement, PTA officers, principals, county managers.  Laura suggested looking into the “weed and seed” federal grant program from her experience in Syracuse.
